JULY GENERAL MEETING
This month’s guest speaker is:
Anna Arancibia, Executive Director of the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA, will tell us about the massive flooding in southeast San Diego on January 6th that displaced over 1200 persons in one day. She assisted with emergency efforts from numerous nonprofit agencies to help people who needed immediate aid and temporary housing.
Unfortunately, San Diego City and SD County management argued about who would pay to provide resources. Nonprofit community groups and flood victims used the YMCA facility as a resource center while locating agency help. The issue is still not completely addressed and Anna will update us on the current status. This promises to be an interesting and emotional presentation. All are invited to attend.
